The purpose of Catalyst is to help provoke a fashion scene in the city of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas by providing local and national emerging designers a platform to showcase their designs to the public.
Shirley Maclaine will portray Coco Chanel, the iconic designer who was famous for creating the little black dress in a 2 part miniseries scheduled to air September 13, 2008 at 8pm on Lifetime. Maclaine will play coco in her later years when she was trying to re-establish her reputation as a fashion trend setter. Karl Lagerfeld and costume designers are working closely with the production staff to help recreate Coco Chanel's designs. I am curious to see how well the director and production team convey the story of Coco Chanel. For more info...Mylifetime.

This Turks and Caicos native, Kathy Misick, has captured the essence of the feminine spirit in her womens wear line. In fall 07, she unveiled her debut collection for Spring/Summer 08. She has interned with noted stylist Jane How and Nathan Jenden, creative director for Diane Von Furstenberg. Kathy Misick is definitely some one to watch. Click on photos to find where to purchase her designs.

This photograph taken by Jean-Baptiste Mondino caught my eye as I flipped through the current fall edition of Fashion Rocks. Fashion Rocks is a seasonal supplement that normally accompanies the Luck Magazine. She is wearing Giorgio Armani...Anyway, do we love this look or hate it?
