Now that you've had a chance to work your new hair do and self pamper yourself, it is now time to check the mental health of your closets. What are your closets saying to you...Are there useless pieces tucked in every inch and crevice of your closet that you haven't wore in a least a year or do you have an over abundance of some of the same items and can't quite grasp what you need from season to season? If you fit any of these scenarios than it is time to restructure your closets and wardrobe...
First step is to assess your current style, has it changed, is it changing or does it need updated. Clear all items out of your closet that you haven't wore in a year and create 2 piles--one for charity and the other for friends/family.
Second step is after you have cleared your closet of all excess baggage, it is time to evaluate what items you need to update, replace or add to your wardrobe. Ask yourself, do I have the basic wardrobe items (Great pair of denim jeans, White crisp oxford shirt, Pencil skirt, Black blazer, Stilettos, boots and a little black dress)...If you don't have any of these items, I strongly suggest that you invest! These basic items will help you build a healthy wardrobe.
Third step is to stay away from to many trendy pieces because these are the items that you typically end up having an overabundance of at the end of the year! As you begin to create a healthy closet, you will begin to notice that you found a lot of items you forgot you had and are still useful!
Finally, you have begun to feel the transformation of your old ego fading away and your new self is ready to shine bright in to the new year! Now, promise me that you will continue to do periodic maintenance on yourself! HAPPY NEW YEAR...Embrace the new you!
